……Rejects Blessing Mbakara
By Kufre George-
Stakeholders in Ubium North Ward 2 have declared their support for Barr. Otobong Effiong Bob, to represent Nsit Ubium State Constituency in the Akwa Ibom State House of Assembly.
Rising from PDP stakeholders meeting held at the residence of the ward chairman in Ikot Okwot- Ubium in Nsit Ubium Local Government Area, the forum reiterated its stand in the adoption and presentation of Barr. Otobong Bob by Ubium North leaders during a meeting held on December 27, 2017.
In a communiqué signed by the ward chairman, Mr Imaikop Udo James and many others, the forum dissociated itself from a publication in Global Accord Newspaper of Thursday January 18, 2018. Mr James noted that his signature as published in the paper was forged. He maintained that he did not attend any meeting where decisions as contained in the publication was taken.
Mr James emphatically stated that the said meeting was convened by one Blessing Mbakara, and was not at the instance of the ward executives. He denied claims that the meeting had in attendance executive members of the PDP, past or present, alleging that the said meeting was dominated by non-members of the PDP and some members of APC
The communique also pointed out that such action amounted to anti-party activity on the part of Blessing Mbakara, and therefore unanimously questioned her integrity in aspiring to represent them in the Akwa Ibom State House of Assembly.
Accordingly, the statement noted that the decisions as published in Global Accord newspaper of Thursday January 18, 2018, or any other papers do not represent the collective desire and wishes of the people of Ubium North ward 2.
While throwing their weight on Gov. Udom Emmanuel’s second term bid in 2019, Ubium North ward 2 stakeholders declared that in the spirit of zoning that has brought peace to the area and as a mark of honour to senator Effiong Bob, who has done so much for Nsit Ubium, they would stand by Ubium North PDP leaders to see the emergence of Barr. Otobong Bob as member representing Nsit Ubium in the Akwa Ibom State House of Assembly.
